The Peak District Adventure Workshop is an amazing weekend adventure. Ian Finch is an absolutely brilliant host and knows his tricks of adventure very well. I really enjoy hiking and the beautiful scenery, and I love learning how to navigate, how to pitch a tent, and what gear to bring on different hikes. I also really enjoyed the photography part of the trip. I would definitely recommend this workshop to other beginner adventurers like myself 😊

Ian was warm, friendly, experienced and an excellent guide for the weekend. The content is exactly as described and very useful. The ride was sustainable, the group dynamics were excellent, and you always felt safe and looked after by Ian, even through sudden changes in extreme weather conditions and difficult terrain. I wouldn't change anything about this trip. highly recommended!

It was an inspiring, informative and above all fun weekend. The arrangement has an "upscale youth hostel" feel to it. The food is healthy and plentiful. The course is the perfect balance of theory and practice - you'll learn how to plan your dream adventure, then get your expedition gear before embarking on two hikes to improve your navigation and photography skills.

But what really made these 48 hours memorable was Ian, the guide and host. He has a wealth of hard-won experiences and great ideas for adventure, and he shares them with others with infectious enthusiasm. Plus, they offer a lot of really thoughtful touches - from brownies and wine when you first arrive, to badges when you leave.

Days Lake Como Itinerary For Those Without A Car In 2023

Great trip, great hosts. It's not a complete "go/go" until you give up. Good balance of education/skills and hiking. Back to pop with a new look! !

I really enjoyed the tour, Ian was very friendly, knowledgeable and able to answer any questions I had.

I especially like the hiking and sailing exercises on top of them, but all aspects of the weekend are very helpful in giving you an overview of how to get the most out of your planned trip.

The food is delicious and plentiful, and the accommodation is warm and comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone who has a dream trip idea but wants the knowledge and skills to make that dream a reality!

Retreat Leaders' Insurance Needs

My husband and I had a great time at the Adventure Skills Weekend hosted by Ian and Jamie. The weekend was well paced, with plenty of time for discussion and consideration, as well as exploring the beautiful Peak District. Both Ian and Jamie are very approachable, knowledgeable and clearly have a passion for all things adventurous. It was a very inspiring weekend and sparked many ideas for our own adventures.

We crunched the numbers, calculated the total carbon footprint of the trip, and planted enough trees to pull twice as much carbon from the atmosphere.

Emits an average of 31kg of CO2 per person, including all local transport, accommodation, meals, activities, guides, staff and office operations.

The only thing not covered right now is flights and travel to destinations. We do an overall estimate for all of our customers individually, but since we don't book flights and our customers come from all over the world and don't have a reliable idea of their travel plans, we simply can't give a specific travel plan like the one pictured. We aim to fix this by 2023 so you can find a way to measure and reduce the carbon footprint of your flights when you book.

Singapore Vtl Countries: 7 Bucket List Worthy Experiences To Cure Your Wanderlust

Our travel is relatively low carbon and we work with all our hosts to develop long-term carbon reduction plans. Since 2016, we've planted enough trees for everyone who booked through us to absorb at least twice as much carbon into the atmosphere as travel emits. All native trees are part of an amazing project to reforest degraded land, address the biodiversity crisis, and at the same time support local communities. Beyond that, we fund reintroduction projects around the world to help protect keystone species from extinction. Check out the reforestation and reforestation programs we support. See our Carbon Action Plan.

Surprisingly, to our knowledge, no international travel company has disclosed its carbon footprint to date. We believe this situation needs to change rapidly. So we openly share the methods we use in the hope that it will be easier for other companies to follow and build on what we have done so far. You will find everything here.
