        welcome to my Channel please like comment and subscribe in this article we are going to talk about one of Maritime companies most of known as just Mars AP molar mass group is a Danish conglomerate company with Rich and operations in number of different sectors including oil and gas transportation and Specialty training for marketing work Mars is most known for container shipping its name and logo are easily recognizable on shipping containers seen on trains across the U.S and the world since 1996 Mars has been the world's largest container shipping line thousands of employees worked for Mass all over the world and with a peak reach into the margin industry many of them are working on ships and imports safety is a key issue for marketing work of all kinds including shipping Mars has faced a number of incidents and controversies most famously having ships hijacked by Pirates here's the history of Mars group the AP molar Mars multinational company began a shipping company in Denmark in 1904. the founder a captain Peter Mars Mueller and his son Arnold Peter Mueller this early on the shipping company relied on steamship but by the 1920s digital ship were added to the fleet soon after tankers were added in the Mars line today's modern container shipping business had its beginning over the years the company kept growing until it become the biggest shipper in the world and then here's the Mars Line This is the biggest of all of Mars division and is responsible for the majority of the company's Revenue March line is the container shipping definite Division and includes a shipping for containers around the world and the luggage stick needed in the terminals and Port served by marshy although the company has been engaged in shipping since the beginning the start of the Mars line officially dates back to 1928. 

    the Marsk line division is the largest shipping company in the world with a truly Global Bridge it employs over 30 000 people with around 7 000 of those working on the ships as a cement the company has nearly 400 offices in over 100 countries around the world the fleet includes more than 600 vessels and can hold nearly 3 million tail of cargo and then here's the safety policies as the biggest container shipper in the world Mars has a lot to be concerned about when it comes to the safety of its workers although container ship are large and mostly stable they see men who work aboard them still face a lot of risks as do all the workers in part who handle the shipping containers Mars line Institute a drive to zero initiative with the lofty goal of having no lost time accident as well as zero oil spills it claims to have a 1000 days free of lost time accident on several of its ships the company conducts what is called Safety boot camps to ensure a culture of safety apart its ships this includes leadership training and training in good Communications vessel analysis for finding potential problems before they become accident and job safety analysis the company also sends out Auditors to conduct safety analysis regularly on each ships the next discussion is about Mars and Pirates with large ship carrying cargo some of it very valuable all over the world modern piracy is a real safety concern and one that is hard to combat Seaman puts a number of its very serious Danger on the job but one that can be surprising to hear about is being boarded and threatened by Pirates the public become aware of the risk because of a piracy incident that occurred with the marriage ship in the Indian Ocean of the coast of Somalia and then a crew of 23 aboard the Mars Alabama a ship carrying seven of 17 000 metric tons of container cargo was headed for port in Kenya when four young Pirates attacked the ship on April 8 2009. 

        Maersk had a trained its staff including this crew in anti-piracy strategies and the crew had even had a power drill the day before the real situation occurred the pirate bell rang of 14 crew member married to shave and secure room remaining crew sent out emergency flares but the pirates still managed to board the ship and then the Mars Alabama and its crew rescue came from the U.S Navy on April 12th after a siege that started on a ninth and the captain of the ship Captain Phillips was taken on stage by the Pirates on a Lifeboat on the first day of the incident ultimately the U.S Navy killed the three pirates in the Lifeboat and the captain was rescued and was not seriously injured and then what the famous movie that told the story of Captain Phillips did not relay on the crew of the ship most of whom were Americans believed that Mars was negligence in the incident they claimed that the company internationally steered them into Waters they knew to be infested with pirates the school members include the captain in the blame claiming that he also knew of the race but he went into the area anyway the crew filed a lawsuit after the incident which was settled by March but the term remained confidential and then there's also an other incident piracy is not the only safety concern for workers aboard Mars container ships any kind of ship that can occur with a ship my uncle with container ship for instance in May of 2016 a Mars container ship collided with a German container ship offshore from China the incident left the ship without power on fire and with a big cash in the side luckily the crew was not hard and although the ship took on water it could be safely toward the shore in 2015 another ship called the Tigris were seized by iron in a Strait of Hormuz at the entrance of the Persian Gulf the Iranian government claimed to have saved it due to a dispute between Mars and an Iranian Company the company accused Mars of defaulting on what it owed that controversial claim put Mars workers at risk while detaining the ship Iranians fart short which could have hurt or killed inertial workers apart and then Mars are taken summaries with its employees and ship and stirreded a controversy over the years but it also takes safely seriously as a married Marcus you should know your rights and responsibilities your employer has to keep you as safe as is reasonably possible if you are hard for a container ship you have records to see compensation for medical bills lost wages and other expenses including pain and suffering if you are a loved one of someone who dies apart a ship while working you also have these rights where the negligence can be proven or not you have right to compensation if you enjoy doing this very dangerous and risky work I think that's all the information that I can share to you guys thank you so much for watching don't forget to keep like comment and subscribe.
